Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo is Italy's only rosé with a dedicated DOC of its own: Montepulciano vinified as rosé, deeper in colour and fuller in structure than a typical rosé — hence the name, from “cerasa”, cherry. The Superiore version, organically farmed at 300 m.
