Rosè Liende is the newest piece of the Liende range, La Viarte's “legendary” collection made only in the best vintages (liende means “legend” in Friulian). It is made from Schioppettino, and a brief skin contact gives it a slightly coppery colour. The vineyards lie at Prepotto in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, at about 200 m, facing east and south-east, on “ponca”, layers of marl and sandstone. The grapes are hand-picked, gently pressed and vinified in steel; the wine spends 4 months on fine lees and at least 3 months in bottle.
