The Judrio valley is Schioppettino's cradle, but, the winery says, only the microclimate of the La Viarte hill made this wine unmistakable. Oparis belongs to the Puarte range of wines for everyday sharing. The vineyards lie at Prepotto in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, at about 150–200 m, facing east and south-east, on “ponca”, layers of Eocene marl and sandstone. The grapes are hand-picked with bunch selection, macerate on the skins for about 7 days and ferment at 25–28 °C with frequent pump-overs; the wine spends 6 months in steel and at least 6 months in bottle. A fresh red with decisive character.
